Before I went to Anguilla, I had a chance to shoot Megan's Bridal session and all I can say is that I LOVE my job!! Megan really wanted something "different" and so we experimented a bit and I think really got some cool shots! Here are just a few...

What a crazy few weeks this is as I just got back from shooting a "Top Secret" wedding in Anguilla and am headed off to Hawaii today for Laura and Lowell's wedding! The internet access in Anguilla was really spotty, so I apologize for not posting as much on the blog. Don't worry though, I will post a TON from Hawaii!! In fact, I'll try to post a few shots from Maui everyday!
Since I am not allowed to post any of the gorgeous wedding photos from the Anguilla wedding, I thought I'd post a few fun shots that Alycia and I took with our little point and shoot camera...

This place REALLY is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen!(And I travel a bunch!!)
Our favorite beach by far is Shoal Bay East as it is simply breathtaking and hardly anyone is ever there! In fact, it was named the best beach in the World by several Travel sites as well as the Travel Channel before!
We stayed at Cuisinart for 3 nights and then at our favorite place aptly named "Serenity". It is on Shoal Bay East and is away from all of the big resorts, etc... but the food around there is wonderful and it truly is an escape! It is such a great place and the staff is wonderful! In fact, as we walked up, Petra noticed me and said "Welcome KJ"!! That was so cool that she remembered me after a whole year!
Unfortunately, I was sick with some sort of nasty cold for the majority of the trip, so here I am trying to recuperate!
Here is Kenneth, the owner of Serenity, who fixed me some sort of RUM mixture to help me get over my cold. Not sure if it worked, but Ken is an awesome host and we'll be back for sure!

Brandi and Brian had a wonderfully elegant and emotional ceremony and reception at the Dallas Arboretum on Saturday! The AMAZING Roxie and Cindy from Something Blue coordinated the whole affair and I just love these guys!! The beautiful cake was once again provided by the FABULOUS Lauren of Fancy Cakes by Lauren!(Lauren, I am going to have to make you an album of all these cakes you have done at my weddings!!) Darryl Ward did the great decor and William Ryan did a wonderful job with the music!(William is one of my favorite DJ's for sure!!)
Andrew, Aubrey, and myself had a great time with everyone and we got some INCREDIBLE shots as well! Here are few highlights from the day...

Congratulations again guys!! I'll have all of the photos edited and online in about 4 weeks. Well, I'm off to the Caribbean to shoot a wedding this week and will be back in Dallas on the 23rd.
I had the chance to take a few shots the other day of one of my good friends and GREAT floral designer/coordinator Tami Winn of A Magic Moment and her team! Tami can be seen on the TV show "Platinum Weddings" and I ALWAYS love working weddings and events with her!!

I'm actually sitting here in the Orlando airport waiting for my flight back to Dallas but just had to vent a bit about the problems I have had today with American Airlines!
First, I realize they had to cancel flights as I agree safety comes first!! But, you have to at least let the passengers know!!
I have been here in Florida shooting this week and happened to catch the news and knew what was going on so I checked my flights and all was good. Well, until I woke up this morning and logged onto the AA.com website to see that my flight was canceled!! How about an email or a phone call??(And yes, I do have all the notifications on in my profile!!) Instead, I was left wondering about all those poor people who didn't log in yesterday and this morning and had no clue!!
Well, I called in only to find that they canceled just about every flight to Dallas from Tampa! So they try to tell me that they are fully booked till Saturday! Are you kidding me? So, I tell the agent that I will drive to Orlando as its only an hour away----well, she tells me she has NO direct flights as they are all sold out but she does have one seat left which goes to Miami and then connects to Dallas. Well, I said grab that seat and off to Orlando I went!
So I get to Orlando and then realize that my flight that I am scheduled to be on is going to be Very late and that I might miss my connection! Now, while a night in Southbeach might be fun, I'm really in no mood right now!
I decided to go up to an agent at another gate and tell them the story and he says ---- let me just book you on the next direct flight from Orlando!! What? Are you kidding me I thought? The other agent said they had NO available seats left!! Oh the joys of flying!! Needless to say, I grabbed the middle seat and am awaiting my flight! Oh yes, my luggage will come in on the Miami flight, but I really don't care right now!
I'll update tonight hopefully from Dallas!! This is also a main reason why I always travel in on Thursdays for my weekend weddings! More to come....

Update - I am back home safe and sound in Dallas! Wow, what a crazy day and a lesson in how NOT to treat clients!!
WOW, what a great month and a half it has been for me! I just found out that I was named as one of Photo District News' 2008 Top Knots of Wedding Photography! What a HUGE honor this is as this is one of the most respected Photography Magazines in existence!!!

I'm off to Florida to shoot for a few days before heading off to BEAUTIFUL Anguilla for a wedding next week, followed by another fun wedding in Maui the week after!! So, look for some GREAT blog posts in the next few weeks!
I had heard that an article was written about me and my business in this month's issue of RANGEFINDER magazine, but I hadn't had the chance to sit down and read it until a few days ago! I think the article was well written and a great indication of how I run my business, etc... I am just honored that they wanted to do a feature on me!
