On Vacation!

As you can see, I have been hard at work shooting weddings all over the country for the last few months! So, I decided that I would take a little vacation this week to get recharged. Plenty of golf and the beach for me!  Don't worry though, when I get back next week, I will get all of my current weddings edited and album designs finished up for those of you who are awaiting those.  I will be checking my email periodically, but feel free to call my cell phone if you have an urgent matter.

BTW, here is where I am going....I will try to post some photos from there as well!

Bridget and Gibran's Wedding!

I had another fabulous wedding on Saturday!  Bridget and Gibran got married at Highland Park United Methodist Church and had a wonderful reception at the Petroleum Club.  The reception band was Inside Out(One of my favorite bands to work with!) and they really put on a great show!

Bridget and Gibran looked AMAZING and we got some wonderful shots!  Here are a few I liked at first glance...

Bridget kept her mom's handkerchief on her during the ceremony.(Her sister Christine also had it during her wedding.) I thought Bridget's pearls were a nice touch!

TAG I'm it!

OK, apparently there is this blog tag game going around the world where photographers with blogs have to list 8 random things that folks might not know about them.  Since I was tagged by a couple of photographers a few weeks ago, I thought I'd play along...

1.  Many folks don't know that I actually wanted to be a band director when I started college!(I think I made the right decision!)

2.  I have a baseball card collection of rare cards worth over $15000!

Published Again!

Well, I just checked my blog stats and it looks like I am averaging about 400 or so hits to my blog every day!  That is unreal to me, but I do have some really cool things planned that are coming soon, so keep checking in!! 

I got an email a couple of months ago from the editor of the Wedding and Party Guide and she happened to see Anthony and Jennifer's Anguilla Wedding that I shot and wanted to feature them on her cover!(This is like the third time an editor from a magazine has found images on my blog and wanted to use them!  How cool is that!)

Tham and Long's Wedding

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting Tham and Long's wedding.  It was a gorgeous day and we came away with some really good stuff!  It started out with a tea ceremony at Tham's parents' house and then a Catholic ceremony at St Peters Vietnamese Catholic Church.  We then had a few hours to go play and get some really cool photos before heading to the reception at the Omni Dallas on I635 and Luna.  BTW, Jonathan and his staff at the OMNI did a fantastic job!

My Cousin's Wedding in North Carolina!!

OK, as I mentioned I had quite a whirlwind Labor Day weekend!  After my New Orleans wedding, I had to get to the airport at 6am because my cousin Priya was getting married in Raleigh, North Carolina on Sunday night.

It was fun to just be an actual  guest again and enjoy the wedding with my family and Alycia.  I did manage to take a few shots though and thought I'd share some with everyone...

Here is where the ceremony and reception took place.  The place had some AMAZING light!

OK, so I did get about 5 minutes with them alone as I told Priya that I'd be happy to take a few "alone shots" with them after the ceremony . Here is what I came up with..Not too shabby if I do say so myself!

Finally, I really love this shot as I used my 50 1.2 lens with no flash  to capture Jon and Priya alone dancing. It allowed me to really show the ambiance of the scene. 

Congrats Jon and Priya!  It was great to see so many of my family members again as well as meet Jon's family and friends!  Have fun in St. Lucia you guys!!

Jessica and Dung's New Orleans Wedding!

WOW, I had a whirlwind Labor Day weekend for sure!  It started off in New Orleans where Jessica and Dung had a huge 600 guest wedding.  It was my first time back to New Orleans since Katrina and I could definitely tell that things were a bit different. 

The wedding was wonderful and we had an amazing time!  Here are some of the great moments and images from New Orleans...

We got in late Thursday so that we could scout out some great locations.  Here is a cool shot right outside of Harrah's...

We also got a chance to check out the areas that the Katrina hit pretty badly.  It was really quite surreal!  Look how high the water line is on this house!

Ok, while scouting out some locations for the wedding, we had to stop by the World Famous Cafe Du Monde and grab some Beignets!!  YUMMY!!
